  1. McAfee Knob -VA

Embark on a trail that exists on many bucket lists from avid hikers around the world. McAfee Knob is one of the most photographed locations on the Appalachian Trail.


It is approximately an 8-mile hike, round trip, with 3,197 feet of elevation.


Despite the length, it is many hikers dream to explore this trail, as it has a stunning 270-degree panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valley, along with a ledge that has become a signature for photos to be taken.


McAfee Knob is located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge and has must-see views that will last a lifetime.

  1. Annapolis Rock via The Appalachian Trail - MD

Take a chance on this 5.0-mile hike through Maryland’s scenic land, beginning in Boonsboro, MD. It is an out-and-back trail with roughly 797 feet of elevation.


This trail is moderately challenging and takes on average, 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete. The Annapolis Rock trail is relatively populated with day hikers coming from South Mountain State Park.


There are beautiful, eye-catching views along the trail where Greenbrier Lake and Black Rock Cliff are visible.

  1. Mount Minsi via Appalachian Trail- PA

Visit Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania for stunning views of Mount Minsi. This trail is 4.8 miles in length with 1,036 feet of elevation.


It is a loop and on average, takes 2 hours to complete. Throughout the hike, there will be views of the lakes, rivers, small waterfalls, and overlooks.


It is moderately challenging and is beautiful to visit at any time of the year.

  1. Weverton Cliffs -MD

Escape off onto this 1.9-mile round-trip trail in Knoxville, Maryland. The trail has an elevation of 567 feet and takes only 1 hour, making it a perfect hike if you’re in a time crunch.


With beautiful views of the Potomac River, this hike offers tons of adventure such as hiking up stone steps and viewing cliffs.


It is a popular trail that is open year-round and is welcoming to dogs and young children.

  1. River Trail Mini Loop- VA

Looking for a shorter hike with a view? The River Trail Mini Loop near Great Falls, Virginia is an easy 1.6-mile hike with an elevation gain of only 26 feet.


It is a round trip that takes roughly 30 minutes. It has gorgeous views of the falls along with three overlooks of the landscape surrounding it.


The trail is open year-round but is at its peak between April and October.
